All about me!

My name is Hannah, I’m married with three absolutely gorgeous but absolutely bonkers kids. Me and my tiny tribe are lucky enough to live in a small village in North Yorkshire. Currently, I’m a mature student in my second year of studying for a BA in Young Children’s Learning and Development. When I’m not studying, mum-ing or wife-ing, I’m an amateur baker who enjoys reading, drinking lots of wine and eating smelly cheese (much to my husbands disgust).

I started this blog because I have always wanted to make sure that the tiny tribe of people I have created are growing up with life skills and values that will last them a lifetime. We don’t have a lot of money. We never have and we probably never will; so I’ve always prided myself on my ability to make a lot from a little. It was at the start of the first national UK lockdown in 2020 that I realised I wanted to share my passion for creative activities and affordable fun with others who may also run on a low income.

Parenting is hard, there is no right or wrong and much to my disappointment, there are no instructions or step by step how to guides. We are all just out here, winging it and hoping that nobody realises we don’t have a clue what we’re doing!

I hope that my sporadic ramblings and ideas can give you inspiration to get messy and creative in play with your children. Above everything, I hope that the budget-mum blog can show that you don’t need to be flush to be fun!
